Lead Developer (Full Stack, AI)
UK, Remote-first | £65k
We’re working with a growing, creative technology business building AI-led products that are already being used in real-world environments.
This is an opportunity to join a small, collaborative team where your voice is heard, your work is visible, and your ideas genuinely shape the product.
You’ll be stepping into a Lead role with a balance of hands on engineering and team leadership, working closely with a tight knit group to deliver high quality, production ready solutions.
The role
You’ll play a key part in building and evolving full stack applications, helping to shape both the technical direction and the way the team works.
This is not a “hands-off” leadership role. You’ll stay close to the code while supporting and mentoring a small team.
What you’ll be doing
• Leading and supporting a small team of developers
• Designing and building scalable full stack applications
• Taking ownership of architecture, deployment, and engineering standards
• Working with AI capabilities and integrating them into real products
• Improving delivery practices, environments, and CI/CD processes
Tech environment (flexible)
They’re open minded on background, so you don’t need experience across everything listed:
Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript or similar
Backend: Node.js or Python frameworks
APIs: REST, GraphQL or similar
Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB or similar
AI / Data:
Experience working with AI-enabled features, APIs, or data-driven systems is useful, but depth can vary
Cloud & DevOps:
AWS, Azure or GCP, Docker, CI/CD pipelines
What they’re looking for
• Strong full stack engineering experience
• Experience mentoring or supporting others
• Experience contributing to or delivering real products
• Comfortable working across the full development lifecycle
• Able to communicate clearly with both technical and non technical stakeholders
A quick note
You don’t need to meet every requirement to apply. If your experience is close and you’re excited about the role, it’s worth a conversation.
We’re particularly keen to hear from people who may not have followed a traditional path into leadership but are ready to take that next step.
Why this role
• Small, supportive team with real ownership
• Opportunity to shape how AI is applied in production environments
• Backed by an established organisation, without losing pace or autonomy
• Clear scope to grow, influence, and make an impact
If you’ve built and shipped products, enjoy working across the stack, and want to be part of something genuinely evolving, I’d be keen to speak.
