Inspire. Transform. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Responsible Individual (RI) to oversee a newly established 2-bed EBD children’s home in the KT14 area. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape a high-quality, therapeutic service where children and young people can thrive. As the RI, you will ensure the home operates in full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and Ofsted expectations. You will mentor the Registered Manager, drive excellence in care, and maintain a safe, nurturing environment for every child. Key Responsibilities * Act as the Responsible Individual (RI), providing strategic and operational leadership. * Ensure full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted Inspection Framework. * Lead, coach, and support the Registered Manager to deliver high-quality care in line with regulatory standards. * Implement safeguarding protocols, auditing, and quality assurance systems to monitor and improve outcomes. * Oversee budgets and operational processes to balance financial sustainability with exceptional care. * Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, ensuring the RI role demonstrates accountability and leadership. * Promote the voice of children to shape service delivery and ensure the Responsible Individual is visible and proactive in everyday practice. About You * Minimum 2 years’ leadership experience in children’s residential care, ideally with EBD experience. * Proven track record of achieving ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted outcomes. * Deep knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards. * Strong safeguarding expertise and the ability to manage complex situations with confidence. * Relevant Level 5 qualification (or above) in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare. * Inspirational leadership skills, able to motivate, support, and challenge staff. * Full UK driving licence and flexibility to be on-site regularly.
