To manage the performance, both operational and commercial, of third party carriers and agency drivers working on behalf of Oxalis Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Divisional Director for Field Operations, the Contracts & Carrier Manager is responsible for; Contract Management Ensuring that necessary relationships with customers and other Oxalis departments involved in the delivery of the business objectives, including safety and service excellence are successfully developed and maintained Maintaining an awareness of client volumes and engaging with the resource team to ensure that sufficient resources are in place to service the clients business needs Identifying customer service trends and develop / implement both proactive and reactive action plans to improve performance Managing the commercial relationship with the clients, and ensure that all commercial elements of the contracts are applied in a timely and accurate manner, including invoicing and contractual variations as necessary Personally developing multi-level relationships with key customer contacts which will enable the company to be positioned correctly and win profitable opportunities in line with its strategy for the business Seeking out and implementing continuous service level improvements, cost saving and optimisation initiatives; conductingformal periodic reviews with all clients and acting as a point of escalation for any client concerns Carrier Management Agency and subcontractor (Suppliers) management negotiate and agree fair and competitive rates, and ensure that all invoices and charges are agreed and paid in a prompt manner Develop strong working relationships with Suppliers Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure Suppliers deliver the highest standards of safety and service performance Ensure Suppliers adhere to the appropriate company policies and agreed service level agreements Design and conduct tenders for Suppliers, agreeing contract terms and SLAs Qualifications, Skills & Experience The successful candidate will have proven experience in client management in the transport sector, experience of managing suppliers/subcontractors/agencies and be an excellent communicator
