About the Role
The Transport Manager will oversee the transportation and delivery of goods, managing compliance with all regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
* Fleet & Compliance
* Manage the company’s O-Licence fleet, ensuring full compliance with all legislation.
* Oversee vehicle compliance, health & safety, and adherence to company policies.
* Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, arranging servicing, repairs, and routine inspections.
* Monitor tachograph records and maintain accurate documentation on vehicle service and repairs.
* People Management
* Lead the recruitment, induction, training, and development of staff.
* Manage staffing levels to cover absences and peak workloads.
* Delegate tasks effectively, monitoring staff workload, output, and performance.
* Oversee staff development, training, and disciplinary processes.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in managing transport, logistics, or distribution operations within a compliance-driven environment.
* Strong people management skills, with experience in leading, developing, and motivating teams.
* Excellent organisational and planning abilities, with a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
* Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
* Experience in cost control, including managing fuel, maintenance, and overtime budgets.
* Transport Managers CPC qualification (essential)
