Overview
A committed, flexible Personal Assistant is required to support a man with low immune system and poor mobility who has become very isolated. The role includes encouraging social interaction, promoting independent living and managing health and wellbeing. The position is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and allows the client to manage their support independently.
Responsibilities
* Support the client to maintain his wellbeing.
* Encourage and support him with activities of interest.
* Support him to access the community.
* Assist with light household tasks.
* Arrange and attend appointments.
* Help the client to remain living at home.
* Keep accurate timesheets and records of tasks completed.
Qualifications
* Active and energetic.
* Proactive individual with local knowledge.
* A good sense of humour and patient, laid-back approach.
* Flexible around hours of work and main duties of the job.
* Reliable with good time keeping.
* Able to use own initiative and be self-motivated.
* Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy.
* An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship.
* Good communication and inter-personal skills.
* Full driving licence and use of a car is required.
* Business use on your insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.
Benefits
* Wages paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided.
