Alongside several consortium partners, Balfour Beatty has been selected by bp (British Petroleum) to construct a first‑of‑a‑kind fully integrated gas‑fired power station with carbon capture and storage, a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster.
Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic Electrical Supervisor to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and lead a team of electricians and apprentices in daily electrical maintenance tasks.
* Provide training and mentorship to staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
* Plan, execute, and oversee electrical projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
* Collaborate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities and minimise downtime.
* Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including motors, transformers, and control panels.
* Ensure proper glanding, terminating, and wiring practices are followed.
* Conduct inspections and assessments of electrical installations and maintenance work to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
* Review and approve work completed by electricians, ensuring quality and accuracy.
* Enforce safety protocols and ensure all electrical work complies with local and national electrical codes.
* Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and safety audits.
* Prepare reports on team performance, project status, and maintenance activities for management.
* Work closely with maintenance managers, engineers, and other supervisors to coordinate maintenance activities.
* Participate in cross‑departmental meetings to ensure alignment on projects and initiatives.
