Southall Medical Centre is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated healthcare assistant (HCA) to join our dynamic clinical team. The successful candidate will ideally have experience working as a healthcare assistant in Primary Care.
Main duties of the job
* Blood tests / phlebotomy
* ECG recording
* Basic wound care and dressing checks
* Health checks (including height, weight, new patient health checks, NHS health checks)
* Provide diet and lifestyle advice to patients according to personalised patient needs (e.g. in high risk of diabetic health checks)
* Blood pressure monitoring
* Urinalysis
* Chaperone support
* To provide education and training to other staff and students, play an active role in staff meetings, clinical audits and practice development
Ensuring medical equipment aligns with infection control protocols.
Managing clinical waste collections and ensuring sharps bins are replaced when necessary.
Adhering to clinical guidelines and protocols, seeking guidance from the Nursing Team or clinicians for any clinical decisions.
Offering advice and information on general health matters.
Restocking clinical rooms with the appropriate levels of supplies and equipment.
The HCA will maintain a professional demeanour, demonstrating respect, dignity, and a compassionate approach towards patients at all times.

Qualifications
* Competency and valid certification in all key duties (e.g. phlebotomy, ECG, etc.)
* Experience with SystmOne clinical system
* Prior experience of working in a GP practice
