You’ll empower learners to build confidence, develop independence, and realise their full potential.
In this role, you will work closely with disengaged or disaffected young people, helping them reconnect with learning and make the most of the opportunities available to them. Your support can make a genuine, lasting difference. Mentoring at EKC is extremely rewarding and offers the successful applicant opportunities to gain various qualifications in Mental Health First Aid, Autism Awareness, Counselling Concepts, Safeguarding & DUST Referrals.
Benefits (Employment Terms)
* 30 hours per week, 37 weeks per year until 1 October 2026.
* Working Monday to Friday 8.30-17.00 (no weekend or evenings).
* Salary £15,482 with an additional holiday payment £2,089, paid in 12 equal monthly installments.

About You
We are seeking a proactive and motivated Student Progression Mentor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be committed to ensuring our students are supported to achieve and progress throughout their time at college. You must be able to deal effectively with students, relevant professions (including external agencies), parents and colleagues. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all documentation and details of contact are recorded and reported to the relevant staff and departments.
The role is both rewarding and challenging, and requires the post holder to be empathetic, supportive and non-judgmental. Experience of supporting young people with mental health difficulties would be a distinct advantage. Excellent record-keeping skills are essential, as is competency in computer programs including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. You will need a flexible approach to your work, as tasks demanded can change from day to day.
