Shipping Coordinator

We are seeking a partly experienced Shipping Coordinator to join a client of ours in the Sevenoaks area in the specialised recycling, metals, and chemicals sector. This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills under the guidance of our Shipping Manager, focusing on global containerised shipments and European trucking movements, This position promises extensive on-the-job training and growth potential.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Assist in the execution of purchases and sales, focusing on containerised shipments globally and European trucking movements.
* Liaise with freight forwarders in and outside of the UK, and other locations via emails and phone calls.
* Maintain accurate stock positions and prepare necessary shipping documentation such as Bills of Lading, invoices, packing lists, and certificates of quality.
* Collaborate with the trading and accounts departments to provide support and ensure seamless operations.
* Gradually assume more responsibilities within the shipping department, aiming to manage key tasks independently.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* Some experience in freight forwarding or shipping is essential.
* Knowledge of Incoterms and containerisation is preferred.
* Strong attention to detail and numeracy skills.
* Ability to manage pressure effectively in a dynamic work environment.
* Foreign language skills are useful but not essential.
