Job Description
Based at Kinloch Care Centre, Carnoustie, covering the Angus area.
This job is workstyle 4 - Hybrid.
You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices, which means you will work from home for part of your week and spend some time in council buildings to best suit your work, meetings, and collaboration.
You will work 21.75 hours per week, by arrangement.
This job is temporary for up to 18 months from the date of appointment.
We offer flexibility regarding the distribution of these hours, allowing you to increase your weekly hours, which will reduce the length of the temporary contract.
Responsibilities
You will work as part of the Community Care Team, providing information and advice to internal and external customers regarding Occupational Therapy services. You will ensure good customer care and that all actions agreed with clients are promptly completed. Experience of working as part of a team is desirable.
You will assess the needs of individuals under and over 65, including children living in the community affected by disability or illness. You will visit and assess clients in their own homes throughout Angus, focusing on reviewing and assessing people with Bed Grab Handle equipment to ensure compliance with recent guidance.
You will identify any changes or risks to clients with Bed Grab Handles and determine the need for additional equipment or adaptations to promote independence. You will also provide advice and information about other community care services.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues from Occupational Therapy, Community Care, NHS, and external services. Experience of teamwork, problem-solving, and seeking guidance is required.
It is essential to have experience working with people with disabilities and knowledge of various disabilities is desirable.
You should have good oral and written communication skills, reporting, and IT skills, and be able to work within departmental policies. Flexibility, initiative, accurate record-keeping, and workload prioritization are essential.
You will be required to travel throughout Angus using your own vehicle, which must be insured for business use.
Internal and external applications on a secondment basis will be considered, with approval from your line manager or organization.
