Purpose
The Facilities Assistant will primarily provide NPLQ cover for the First Team building and PPO for all campus Spa and Pool areas (Men’s First Team, Women’s First Team, Academy, Academy Stadium, Etihad Stadium).
You will also assist and support the Senior Facilities Manager in other key FM Departmental areas including Fire Marshall and First Aid duties. 
Please note, this is a casual role and will be ad-hoc rota-based hours. The role will include evening and weekend work, subject to the first team training schedule and facility usage demands.
Your Impact
 1. Pool Session Support: Supervise and assist with First Team and individual rehab pool sessions alongside the Performance team.
 2. Pool Operations & Maintenance: Monitor and record pool water chemical levels, carry out routine checks and preventative maintenance, and report any defects or maintenance issues.
 3. Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain accurate records, update risk assessments (including COSHH), and ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational procedures.
 4. Stock & Documentation Management: Manage stock levels of pool chemicals, place orders within budget, and regularly update the Pool Ops Manual (including NOP/EAP).
 5. Cleanliness & Team Support: Ensure high standards of cleanliness in pool and spa areas, support housekeeping and kit teams, and maintain clear communication with the Senior Facilities Manager.
 6. Training & Development: Attend relevant training courses to stay up to date with qualifications and industry best practices.
What we are looking for
Essential 
 7. Current NPLQ Lifeguard qualification.
 8. Pool plant operation qualification and experience.
 9. Experience within a leisure or sporting organisation.
 10. Display strong and effective communication skills.
 11. Flexible and adaptable attitude.
 12. Collaborative attitude and excellent teamwork with attention to detail.
 13. Dedicated to the role, always striving for best in class.
Desirable
 14. Leisure/Fitness instructor qualification.
 15. FM based training or qualification.
 16. First Aid Qualification (passed within 6 months).
 17. Fire Marshall (passed within 6 months).
