Our client, a prominent entity in the Highways sector, is currently seeking a dedicated Highways Engineer to join their Planned Maintenance Team within the Highway Operations service area on a full-time, contract basis. The team is part of a larger department that manages the Council's highway infrastructure, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivering a range of highway projects from inception to completion
Conducting inspections and surveys
Carrying out feasibility and options studies
Overseeing project management and financial control
Providing design, site supervision, and contract management
Managing multiple complex projects or work programmes simultaneously
Ensuring effective budgetary control of individual schemes
Job Requirements:
Experience in highways engineering
Proven knowledge and experience in delivering schemes in an urban environment
HNC/BSc/BEng in civil engineering or other relevant and equivalent qualification
Understanding of the political context and environment of a local authority
Strong project management skills
Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities
