About the Role
Your main role will be to support lawyers with both Child Protection and Adults Safeguarding work including PLO pre‑proceedings, Care Proceedings and Court of Protection cases. You will also handle private law cases where the Court requires information from the Local Authority. This work includes taking statements, obtaining evidence and disclosure from other agencies, assisting with the instruction of experts and counsel, liaising with clients, the court and other parties, drafting legal documents and occasionally attending meetings such as PLO family meetings and round‑table meetings. The sensitive and confidential nature of the work requires a flexible and tactful approach. Representing the Council appropriately in relation to the above matters will be part of your responsibilities.
About You
* A basic knowledge of Family Court, Court of Protection and Civil Court procedures.
* Experience of dealing with the preparation of cases for those courts, including witness statements, court papers and bundles.
* Familiarity with legal procedures, protocols and court systems.
* Ability to be sensitive to the nature of the work and maintain client confidentiality.
