The Estimator Contractor
Reddbrick is recruiting for a Sub Contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects nationally. They are seeking an Estimator to join their team and manage projects throughout the region. Experience in Fit out, internal, and external packages would be advantageous.
The Estimator Role
The Estimator will play a key role in the planning and financial management of Fit out schemes. This position requires experience in cost planning, including measurement from Stage 2, 3, and 4 general arrangement drawings to produce builder's quantities and compilations. You will collaborate closely with project managers and other stakeholders to achieve optimal results.
Estimator Responsibilities
* Populate your cost plan to support development appraisals, design solutions, validation of designs, and benchmarking.
* Prequalification of opportunities.
* Work on a variety of tendering forms, identifying opportunities to add value throughout the project process.
* Tender and develop Stage 3 and Stage 4 design information into robust sub-contract enquiries for quotation, and prepare financial information for settlement meetings at each Gateway stage, including Financial Close/Contract Sum.
* Track and report on project costs and financial performance, addressing deviations from budget.
* Recommend cost-saving alternatives and value engineering options to optimize project efficiency and quality.
* Maintain clear and effective communication with all project stakeholders, ensuring alignment on costs and timelines.
Estimator Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
* At least 3 years of estimating experience, focusing on Fit out.
* Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office Suite.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
* Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
* Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage multiple bids and proposals.
