Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and resilient SEN Teacher to join a specialist setting in Ipswich. Suffolk, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, with a strong interest or specialism in ICT / Computing / Digital Learning.
This opportunity is open to qualified SEN Teachers, specialist SEMH Teachers, and teachers with a strong ICT background who are motivated to make a meaningful impact on vulnerable learners.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to pupils with SEMH and additional needs
Use ICT, digital tools and assistive technology to support learning, engagement and regulation
Create a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment
Implement and review EHCP targets, behaviour support plans and individual strategies
Work collaboratively with SEND teams, therapists, pastoral staff and families
Support pupils’ academic progress, emotional regulation and social development
Contribute to a positive, inclusive and trauma‑informed school culture
About You
You will ideally have:
QTS / QTLS / PGCE (or equivalent UK teaching qualification)
Experience teaching pupils with SEMH, SEND, ASD or behavioural needs
A clear interest or subject strength in ICT, Computing or digital learning
Strong classroom management and de‑escalation skills
A flexible, patient and solution‑focused approach
Confidence adapting lessons for diverse learning needs
