Job Title: Transport Contracts Monitoring Officer
Salary: £29,832 - £31,877 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week

The Role
We are looking for a committed and detail-focused Transport Monitoring Officer to support Worcestershire County Council in ensuring that transport services across the county are safe, reliable, and compliant. This is a varied, field‑based role where you will monitor contracted transport services, ensuring compliance with legislation and the council’s terms and conditions, while supporting continuous service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake on‑site monitoring of contracted transport services across Worcestershire
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and council standards
* Assess contractor performance against specifications and contractual requirements
* Record findings clearly and provide accurate, evidence‑based reports
* Investigate complaints, incidents, and non‑compliance, recommending appropriate action
* Work collaboratively with operators and internal teams to resolve issues and improve service delivery
* Support contract management, audit, and performance monitoring activities
* Support and assist with asset management and passenger transport timetable network

Essential Requirements
* Experience in a compliance, monitoring, transport, or contract‑related role
* Strong observational and reporting skills
* Good knowledge of relevant transport legislation (or willingness to learn)
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
