Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our friendly Biochemistry team.
As part of a UKAS accredited medical laboratory, you will receive training to work across the full spectrum of laboratory duties. No prior experience is required.
Full time, 37.5 hours per week in an environment that values quick turnaround and high quality service.
Responsibilities
* Communicate effectively with clinical staff, laboratory staff and external clients regarding advice/clarification of test requests in a professional manner.
* Answer the telephone in a clear and concise manner, ensuring all results are logged.
* Assist with verbal and written communication.
* Use information technology appropriately.
* Order stock from Main Stores to maintain adequate supplies of reagents and consumables; receive and monitor deliveries.
* Supply stock to wards, departments and GP practices as requested in a timely manner.
* Check that the correct specimen, collected under appropriate conditions, has been supplied for requested investigations.
* Perform checks on general laboratory equipment to ensure they are working within specification.
