Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Healthcare Support Worker to work on Standish Ward. You will provide a range of personal care and clinical duties under the guidance of a registered healthcare professional, working independently after appropriate training and competency assessment. Applicants must hold an NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care or the Care Certificate, and be prepared to provide evidence of qualifications during the interview and pre‑employment checks.
Job Responsibilities
* Assist patients with washing, dressing, personal care, beverages and/or meals.
* Assist qualified nursing and medical staff upon request.
* Communicate with all team members to maintain high‑quality service provision.
* Ensure patients meet hygiene needs, providing suitable assistance.
* Prepare and support patients for activities undertaken.
* Alert registered nurse to any changes in a patient’s health, well‑being or potential risks.
* Undertake observations/tasks such as temperature, weighing and fluid checks as directed.
* Use material resources and supplies efficiently in consultation with senior staff.
* Assist with general cleaning, re‑stocking of resources and bed preparation.
* Contribute to personal development and active participation in learning opportunities.

Essential Experience

* Flexibility in approach and working with diverse backgrounds.
Essential Qualifications
* GCSE English Language and Maths A‑C or equivalent.
* NVQ 2 Health and Social Care or Care Certificate.
* NVQ 3 or equivalent; willingness to undertake an apprenticeship in Senior Healthcare Support Worker.
* Evidence of ongoing CPD.
Additional Requirements
* Speak English to an appropriate standard with confidence and accuracy.
* Willingness to train and develop further.
* Understand and apply Health & Safety, Risk Assessment and Data Protection legislation.
