A Division of Wabtec UK Ltd, Northampton-based firm Bearward Engineering manufactures radiators for the power generation industry and is currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer.
Role: Quality Engineer
Location: Northampton, (NN4 8HJ)
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:00am to 16:30pm, and Friday 08:00am to 15:30pm
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
How will you make a difference?
To promote a culture of excellence in quality, taking a proactive approach to solving quality issues, ensuring prompt investigation, root cause is established, and implementation of corrective preventive actions.
What will your typical day look like?
* Maintaining and improving the Quality Management System and supporting internal improvements and corrective actions.
* Being an integral part of the Quality to support customer and supplier concerns, new product introductions, and product changes.
* As part of the Quality team, you will conduct process audits in all areas of the business.
What do we want to know about you?
* HNC/HND or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Quality Management
* Experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment (Preferably heavy or industrial manufacturing).
* Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
* Experience in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
* Hands-on experience with problem-solving methodologies – e.g., 8D, RCA, FMEA.
* Proficiency in quality software/tools – e.g., MRP systems and quality management software.
* Experience with Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and process improvement initiatives.
