Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a leading Software business that are on the hunt for a seasoned and strategic Head of Sales / Sales Manager to drive new customer acquisition and expand their presence within the UK school sector.
This management-level role leads a team of Business Development Professionals, creating and executing strategic sales plans while promoting cross‑selling opportunities across the product suite.
The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership experience and, preferably, a strong background in software sales. Most importantly, they must understand complex sales cycles and have the ability to influence multiple stakeholders throughout the decision‑making process.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of Business Development Professionals to achieve and exceed targets.
* Set clear performance expectations while providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and training.
* Drive a high‑performance, collaborative sales culture.
* Develop and deliver strategic sales plans to grow new customers across the UK.
* Conduct detailed market research to identify leads and emerging opportunities.
* Manage the full sales lifecycle from prospecting to closing, ensuring high conversion rates.
* Work closely with Marketing to align integrated campaigns supporting customer acquisition.
* Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to support revenue growth and expand group penetration.
* Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights to continuously refine strategy.
* Engage with customers through business reviews, events, and ongoing relationship‑building.
Experience & Skills needed
* Significant B2B sales experience with expertise in managing sales teams.
* Software sales experience would be advantageous.
* Proven track record of exceeding targets in a B2B sales environment.
* Strong leadership qualities with a passion for coaching and developing teams.
* Target‑driven, motivated, and passionate about customer success.
* Strategic thinker with strong execution capability.
* Strong problem‑solving abilities and fast decision‑making.
