Our stunning care home, Guiseley Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built 72-bed care facility situated in the town of Guiseley in the heart of West Yorkshire, Leeds. The home provides the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care to residents with various care needs, including residential, nursing, and dementia care. Reflecting the New Care vision, we prioritize safety, comfort, and care, investing in the latest technology and offering purposeful daily activities and gentle exercises to enhance residents' wellbeing. All team members are carefully selected for their warmth and passion, undergo a comprehensive induction, and receive ongoing training from our in-house trainers and the New Care Academy. We have maintained a permanent staff team for over 3 years, ensuring continuity of care and fostering trust with residents. Additionally, all staff are paid above the national living wage.
We are seeking to appoint kind, caring, and compassionate Care Assistants to join our team. You will deliver quality care to residents in line with agreed Care Plans and contribute to the efficient running of the Care Home. We offer full-time contracts with an hourly rate of £11.44. Shift times are 19:45-08:00, with alternate weekend working.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Deliver “hands-on” care to residents in a person-centred way.
2. Support residents to enjoy a good quality of life.
3. Model best practices when delivering care.
4. Assist residents in all aspects of their physical, emotional, and spiritual care needs in line with agreed care plans.
5. Contribute to the daily records of residents.
6. Work effectively within a team and undertake delegated tasks efficiently.
7. Promote and safeguard the welfare of adults the post holder is responsible for or comes into contact with.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Experience at Care Assistant level in a care environment is preferable.
2. Care certificate or equivalent, or willingness to achieve this within the first 12 months of employment.
3. Knowledge of good care practices relating to the care of older people.
4. Understanding of the 6 principles of care and their application in residential/nursing settings.
5. Ability to work well within a team.
6. Self-motivation and confidence.
