Purpose of Role:
* Within their designated region, field-based security investigators are responsible for investigating assigned security incidents in response to reactive complaints from players and retailers; incidents derived from proactive data-mining of retail and CIP (UPAM) data; and reports of criminal / adverse activity by retailers, including non-compliance with Allwyn's mystery test shopper programme.
* All investigations are to be logged and completed using the case management system and escalated as necessary according to the Allwyn suspension and sanction process.
* Investigators are also responsible for providing detailed evidence and expert support to law enforcement and government agencies; preventing fraud; and conducting internal investigations within Allwyn.

The Security function consolidates specialist knowledge, skills, and experience to keep Allwyn operating securely. Through our key security services, we work with the business to protect our people and assets, and maintain the integrity of the National Lottery.
Team Description:
The Protective Security Team safeguards the security and integrity of The National Lottery by preventing, detecting, and deterring potential threats.
Key Accountabilities or Duties:
* Investigate, resolve, and report on assigned incidents efficiently, including interviewing retailers and players, liaising with law enforcement when appropriate.
* Visit retail outlets, liaise with proprietors, and take appropriate actions such as suspending or terminating retailer agreements and managing stock issues.
* Record complaints and secure evidence from players.
* Investigate high-tier prize claims, damaged tickets, and anomalous scanning activity, securing evidence to support management decisions.
* Inspect retail premises for compliance, fraud prevention, and security issues.
* Prepare detailed investigation reports to support sanctions or corrective actions.
* Gather, analyze, and present evidence for law enforcement agencies, including court appearances when necessary.
* Contribute to process improvements related to investigations.
* Provide advice and guidance to retail managers and staff.
* Provide coverage for other investigators and assist in policy updates.
* Support internal investigations involving staff, as needed.
* Maintain a 24-hour on-call investigation service weekly.
* Support media events for high-value winners, ensuring safety and privacy.
Skills & Experience:
* Minimum five years in a regulatory, legal, or enforcement environment.
* At least two investigations conducted.
* Strong presentation, organizational, and analytical skills; ability to work independently.
* Proficiency with relevant databases and systems.
* Knowledge of lottery security procedures, retailer responsibilities, and relevant policies.
* Understanding of police procedures, legal requirements, and winner validation processes.
* Must be able to drive.
