Job Summary
The Consultant Paramedic in Urgent and Emergency Care will provide professional leadership to ensure the highest standards of care are delivered through expertise, effective clinical leadership and role modelling. Aligned to the national Consultant Practitioner Capabilities Framework, the post holder will possess highly developed capabilities at consultant practice level to influence policy and the clinical agenda, inform practice through research, provide expert clinical input into educational programmes and deliver both traditional and innovative teaching for the Trust's clinicians.
Maintaining professional competence through regular clinical practice (0.2WTE), they will use their expertise to provide consultancy on relevant matters to a range of stakeholders. While providing emergency care leadership and expertise for the whole organization. They will also provide visible clinical leadership and ensure excellent governance to all aspects of emergency care. The post holder will line manage the clinical audit team and will be expected to deputise for the Chief Paramedic when required.

Corporate Induction

All new starters need to attend our Corporate Induction in person, this is held over one and half days from our educational centres based in: Newbury (Berkshire), Bicester (Oxfordshire) or Whiteley (Hampshire). Person Specification
Essential
* Clinically focused MSc (e.g. Advanced Clinical Practice)
* Professional registration with HCPC
* Teaching, coaching or mentorship qualification
* Current driving licence (manual) with C1
Desirable
* PhD or equivalent doctoral qualification (or working towards)
* Leadership qualification and development in the pre-hospital setting
* Diploma IMC RCS Ed
* Experience in leading practice (including acting as a Consultant Paramedic or equivalent level of responsibility)
* A recognised qualification in Quality Improvement methodology
