We are currently looking for a Cost Engineer, to join a leading manufacturer based in the UK.
This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate product costing, validating supplier quotations, and driving continuous cost optimisation across new and existing vehicle programmes.
The Cost Engineer will:
* Prepare should‑cost calculations and cost estimates to validate supplier quotations for technology parts and build‑to‑print components.
* Support cost negotiations in collaboration with the Purchasing team.
* Provide target cost estimates and evaluations throughout new product development.
* Analyse material costs, tooling investments, and assembly costs.
* Set up and maintaining foreign exchange and raw‑material commodity indexation matrices.
* Support make‑versus‑buy assessments, sourcing strategies, and supplier negotiations.
The Cost Engineer requirements:
* A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Automotive, or Manufacturing Engineering.
* Strong knowledge of machining, casting, forging, composites, and related manufacturing processes.
* The ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
* Strong analytical capability and excellent attention to detail.
