Job overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Cardiology Nursing Team at Royal Free London Trust. The Lead Cardiology Nurse would support the provision of evidenced based care to the Heart Failure and Arrhythmia Nurse team’s across the trust. This role would involve supporting the provision of key services cross site.
This post requires a nurse who has strong leadership skills and who is passionate about enhancing the experience of patients and who will be involved in the development of new and existing patient pathways. This may be cross site as well as supporting the integrations of care throughout North Central London partnerships.
We are looking for an individual who can support, engage, and motivate their teams to enable them to provide exceptional patient care. The post holder would need to have a high level of autonomy and experience running nurse lead clinics. A knowledge of specialist nursing and of cardiology subspecialties in key. The role requires supporting the development of the clinical nurse specialists within these teams.
You will be supported by the clinical leads and by the senior matron for the Cardiovascular Division and will work in partnership the with Lead nurse for acute coronary syndrome and cardiac rehabilitation. This post is one-year fixed term to cover maternity leave.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be:
* practising at an advanced level, demonstrating a sound knowledge of and experience in the specialist area of heart failure
* co-ordinating clinical services and ensuring continued development and expansion of cross site nurse led services
* providing strong leadership/management for the clinical nurse specialists, overseeing their practice and supporting their development and training needs
* actively participating in the development work of the Clinical Pathways Group to enhance patient focused clinical practice
* participating and leading in the further development of the integrated care agenda in heart failure
* a member of the relevant service groups, represent nursing issues Trust wide and at system level and effectively communicate with these services, demonstrating sound knowledge of relevant health service policy.
