We are currently recruiting for an Evening Chef to join our team at one of our workplace restaurants in North Hykeham, LN6 3QX.
This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 2:45pm until 11:15pm. We are looking for a positive, honest, and reliable individual to join our friendly and hardworking team. We can offer excellent training and future development opportunities for the right candidate.

From vibrant street food-inspired specials and comforting favourites to fresh salads, handcrafted sandwiches, and convenient grab-and-go options, you will help maintain the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation across every dish. The catering department is currently undergoing an exciting full refurbishment, creating a modern, innovative, and energised kitchen and dining environment that reflects the quality of our fresh, trend-led, bespoke food offering.
Working closely with the Evening Shift Sous Chef, you will play an integral role in supporting all aspects of the kitchen operation, helping to ensure the seamless delivery of exceptional food and service standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and creative chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is keen to bring fresh ideas and innovative culinary concepts to the team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting with daily food preparation and evening service
2. Preparing and presenting fresh, high-quality dishes
3. Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety
4. Supporting stock control and kitchen organisation
5. Working collaboratively with the wider kitchen team
6. Contributing ideas towards menu development, seasonal specials, and future food concepts
7. Ensuring all food is prepared and served to a consistently high standard
The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a busy kitchen environment and have a genuine passion for fresh food and current food trends. You will be reliable, motivated, and team-oriented, with strong attention to detail and a positive attitude.
We are looking for someone who can bring creativity and enthusiasm to the role and who is keen to develop and grow within a professional kitchen environment.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
8. Have experience working in a similar role and environment
9. Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high-pressured environment
10. Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
11. Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy
12. Have excellent customer service and social skills
13. Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food to staff
14. Have a can do attitude and will work well as part of a team
