Job Details
* Position: Night HGV Class 2 Drainage Engineer
* Location: Millbrook Depot, Southampton, Hampshire
* Job Type: Permanent, full‑time
* Hours: 4 Nights On / 4 Nights Off, average 40.25 hours per week
* Salary: £39,666 per annum

Responsibilities
* Travelling to residential sites via an HGV in a two‑person team, around the region, powering a high‑pressure water jet for restoration
* Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems
* Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided
* Run diagnostics and repairs on drains
* Deliver good customer service
* Maintain good health and safety practice while carrying out works
* Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished
* Comply with health and safety responsibilities, i.e. PPE / safe site set‑ups protecting Lanes Group employees, the public and other road users
* Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms
* Operate JHL specification vacuum tankers and associated equipment
* Safely access vehicle cabs, sites and offices using correct procedures (e.g., three points of contact)
* Manipulate (including loading and unloading to/from tanker pipe storage trays) flexible pipework in a safe manner utilising correct manual handling techniques
* Work unsupervised in all weather conditions, wearing correct PPE or utilising the lone worker system
* Dynamically risk‑assess site access and working conditions depending on specific circumstances on arrival
* Liaise with the client regarding process and any updates
* Provide support to your colleagues
* Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before and after use
* Report any defects or malfunctions
* Carry out risk assessments and have a mature approach to risk perception
* Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them
* Any other reasonable ad‑hoc tasks, duties or projects as requested by management
About You
* The ideal candidate will be hard working, respectful and comply with health and safety standards
* Experience with High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential
* Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage
* Minimum of a HGV Class 2 licence, completed Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and an up‑to‑date digital tachograph card
