An established UK law firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join its Glasgow-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated lawyer looking to work with a broad and high-quality client base, including high-net-worth individuals and families, delivering tailored legal solutions across a range of private client matters.
Working as part of a large and collaborative team, the successful candidate will manage a varied caseload and play a key role in providing strategic, tax-efficient advice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Advise clients on inheritance tax and estate planning, including agricultural and business property reliefs
2. Draft complex Wills and trust structures tailored to individual client needs
3. Manage executry and trust administration, including high-value and taxable estates
4. Provide detailed, proactive advice on tax planning and wealth preservation
5. Handle matters relating to powers of attorney and adults with incapacity
6. Work closely with colleagues and external advisors to deliver a seamless client service
The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience in private client work. They will demonstrate strong technical expertise across wills, trusts and estate administration, alongside a solid understanding of the taxation of trusts. A high level of attention to detail is essential, particularly in the drafting and review of legal documents. The role requires a commercially aware individual with excellent interpersonal skills, who is comfortable collaborating with colleagues and external stakeholders to deliver a high-quality client service. A STEP qualification would be advantageous.
