This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a world-class business school, helping to shape a progressive and expanding portfolio of Apprenticeship programmes. We are seeking to appoint a Programme Director who will develop and deliver the Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship in Digital & Technology Solutions Professional, which is part of the strategic development of the Apprenticeship programme portfolio at Henley Business School. We aim to attract highly motivated and experienced individuals who align with the values of apprenticeship programmes and have an excellent record in high-quality teaching. All staff are expected to be highly collegiate, lead by example, and contribute actively to new initiatives at Henley Business School.
Your primary responsibility as Programme Director is to ensure the design and delivery of high-quality learning opportunities for learners, providing strategic oversight and direction of the programme that aligns with the principles of the Apprenticeship Standard and Ofsted Inspection Framework. You will coordinate all elements of the apprenticeship programme, including Module Convenors, Learning Coaches, and Apprenticeship Tutors, to facilitate a cohesive programme. Additionally, you will contribute to teaching and engage in scholarly activities as agreed with the Head of Department.
Teaching responsibilities include developing, convening, and teaching modules, supervising projects, and providing academic tutoring, along with appropriate assessment and feedback.
Scholarship activities involve undertaking research and thought leadership to keep teaching current and relevant, potentially leading to publications such as white papers, discussion/working papers, case studies, and journal articles.
You will have:
* A university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management, or a related field
* Teaching experience in higher education
* Excellent knowledge of the field, including computer science, software engineering, information systems, data analytics, and their curricular context
* Leadership experience in teaching and learning, including developing teaching materials
* The ability to show initiative and responsibility in professional activities
The role is teaching-intensive and initially fixed for three years.
