Blair West are supporting a confidential, private equity-backed business to find a Management Accountant / Finance Manager.
Entering a significant growth phase following new PE investment, the organisation is professionalising its finance function under the leadership of an experienced CFO. This is a newly created role, positioned at the centre of the finance transformation agenda, reporting directly to the CFO and playing a key part in building a modern, in-house finance capability to support scale.
The opportunity:
* Lead the transition of core accounting activities from outsourced providers to an in-house model, strengthening control and accuracy.
* Own the month-end close process, ensuring robust reconciliations, balance sheet integrity, and timely reporting.
* Prepare high-quality management accounts and deliver meaningful financial insight to senior leadership.
* Play a central role in implementing a new finance system, contributing to testing, integration, and process design.
* Introduce structured processes and controls aligned to a PE-backed, scaling environment.
* Support investor reporting, banking relationships, and commercial analysis alongside the CFO.
* Drive continuous improvement across finance operations to enhance efficiency and scalability.
* Build strong cross-functional relationships, embedding finance as a proactive partner to the wider business.
You'll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
* ACA or ACCA qualification, ideally trained within a Big 4 or leading mid-tier audit firm.
* A strong technical grounding in financial reporting, controls, and balance sheet management.
* Experience operating in a growing or changing environment, ideally with exposure to PE-backed businesses.
* Involvement in finance system implementation or process transformation initiatives.
* The confidence to engage credibly with senior stakeholders, lenders, and investors.
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insight.
* A proactive, hands-on approach with the drive to take ownership and build capability.
* The ambition and trajectory to progress toward Financial Controller in the medium term.
