It has undergone significant transformation, including record market share growth, a new website, and six new stores, with plans for expansion over the next five years. Our range includes over 1, different wines, spirits, and beers, both online and in-store. Our strength lies in our knowledgeable, friendly staff, many of whom are WSET-trained.
The Role
As a Trainee Manager, you will undergo a 12-month development programme, gaining comprehensive operational, service, and leadership experience to prepare you for a future Store Manager role. You will follow a structured training pathway with support from your Store Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Be an ambassador for the store, supporting the team to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
* Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and improving KPIs.
* Deliver exceptional customer service to foster loyalty and repeat business.
* Offer a VIP concierge service, keeping customers updated on products and tastings.
* Promote products passionately, manage tasting events, and execute attractive tastings.
* Enhance your wine knowledge to support your WSET qualifications and sales confidence.
* Maintain the store's appearance and operational standards internally and externally.
* Participate in operational tasks like stock deliveries, merchandising, and customer outreach.
* Identify operational improvements for better store performance.
* Ensure compliance with policies and complete mandatory training.
* Own your development and support junior team members as a role model.
Knowledge & Skills Required
* Experience in a fast-paced retail or hospitality environment working as part of a team.
* Ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
* Strong prioritisation and problem-solving skills under pressure.
* Self-motivated with a positive attitude and resilience.
* Excellent communication and time management skills.
* Passion for wine and willingness to learn, aiming to pass WSET levels 2 & 3.
* Valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence for at least 12 months, with no more than 6 penalty points.
