Lloyd’s are seeking to recruit x2 Domain Enterprise Architects. Within Lloyd’s there are 2 business domains as per definitions below. Each domain encompasses people, process, data and technology, together with the services that the domain provides to the London market. The Domain Enterprise Architects will work with colleagues from the Domain, the Architecture team and the wider technology and operations community, both internal and third-party, to ensure the business capabilities required by the Domain are met through appropriate solutions and that the Domain application landscape is appropriately managed.
Finance, Risk, Legal and HR – encompasses all areas of Finance (Treasury and Investment Management, Central Finance, Tax, Market Reserving and Capital Adequacy and Procurement) and Human Resources, General Counsel, Risk.
Markets, Commercial and Global – encompasses Market Oversight (executing the Lloyd’s regulatory responsibilities to the Market), Market Performance (including the management of delegated authorities, underwriting, claims, catastrophic risk and reinsurance, and syndicate performance), Commercial (Strategic Partnerships, Insight, Innovation, Market Development, Government Policy & Affairs, Communications Media & PR) and Global Network operations in the Americas, Europe and APMEA.
Principal Accountabilities
Transformational EA
1. Establish, maintain, and evangelize enterprise architecture principles and governance within the domain
2. Build trusted and effective relationships with key stakeholders in the domain
3. Ensure Enterprise and Domain strategy engagement and alignment
4. Build and socialise domain business architecture strategies (1-, 3-, 5-year views)
5. Support major program / project engagement incl. governance, procurement, steering, etc.
6. Understand and communicate enterprise architecture decisions and design to technology & business stakeholders, providing the right business solution.
BAU EA
7. Ensure regular Application Lifecycle Management activities are completed for the domain, including application rationalisation / landscape simplification and TCO
8. Monitor Tech Debt, Waivers and Target Landscape alignment, managing necessary escalations
Wider EA
9. Collaborate with the wider Architecture function and community to ensure consistency across business and technology domains and across Enterprise and Solution Architecture
10. Maintain awareness and understanding of priority technical tools across the technology architecture, as well as build understanding of industry-leading tools and best practices.
Skills Knowledge and Experience
11. Maintain awareness and understanding of priority technical tools across the technology architecture, as well as build understanding of industry-leading tools and best practices.
12. Knowledge of the Lloyd’s market and its stakeholders is essential
13. Familiarity with the insurance sector (carrier, broker, MGA, syndicate, etc.) is desirable
14. Knowledge of supporting global businesses and stakeholders is desirable
15. Knowledge of 2 or more of the following is desirable: Strategic Partnerships, Insight, Innovation, Market Development, Government Policy & Affairs, Communications Media & PR
16. Experience within a complex, high volume change environment
17. Extensive architecture experience in principles and disciplines
18. Understanding of integration patterns
19. Commercial insurance industry, terminology and strategic drivers is a plus
20. Experience of laws and regulations as they relate to the Financial Services Industry
21. Knowledge of Governance frameworks in complex regulated environments
22. Working knowledge of the software development life-cycle
23. Familiarity with data, data architecture, data governance, Machine Learning and AI
