Summary
The successful applicant will work towards their AAT Level 3 qualification while gaining real-life accountancy experience in a variety of industries such as music, medical professionals and retail. These clients can be based anywhere in the UK or even abroad. There will certainly be a lot of experiences to draw from.
Wage
£15,600 for the first year, with the possibility of increase depending on age. Pay may be negotiated and may increase after the probation period has been successfully completed.

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. Youll learn on the job by getting hands‑on experience.
What Youll Do at Work
* Prepare source documents for computer entry by compiling, sorting and organising documents, resolving questionable data, and setting daily priorities.
* Maintain account systems for multiple companies by inputting sales and purchase ledgers.
* Prevent erroneous entries by inputting voids and cancellations.
* Update records by entering adjustments.
* Complete bank reconciliation and prepare VAT returns.
* Prepare management accounting information.
* Prepare payroll.
* Perform general office duties, including answering phone calls, emails and dealing with visitors.

You will train towards the Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard and the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting, including the following modules:

What Youll Learn
Course contents:
* Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
* Record and analyse financial data using the organisations standard tools and processes.
* Apply double‑entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
* Assist with the production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
* Reconcile financial data, such as preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
* Investigate, resolve or escape transactional queries and errors within the remit, as appropriate.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
* Communicate financial information in a way that non‑finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
* Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
* Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
* Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods, with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
More Training Information
* The apprentice will attend face‑to‑face training sessions with an experienced tutor at FAR Accountancy Training Centre in York (Mill Lane, Askham Bryan, YO23 3NU).
* Alternatively, the apprentice could adopt an online‑live training delivery via Zoom.
* The learner will be provided with study materials and guided training by FAR Training and will be required to undertake exams while working towards the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting qualification.
* There will also be an element of self‑study assignments to be completed by the learner during training.
* Apprentices will receive training and mentoring in the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for Level 3 apprenticeship, both in the workplace and by the training provider.
