Job Description
Turner & Townsend's Digital and Consultancy business unit is seeking a suitable candidate to join their team, with a focus on (but not limited to) the Defence sector. Candidates MUST already hold high-level UK government security clearance.
The team offers a wide range of commissions across the UK. Candidates should expect to travel to support project delivery. As a global business, we deliver projects worldwide, so flexibility for future travel is advantageous.
Consultants will work within our Digital consulting team and may collaborate with other Turner & Townsend project teams. They will interact with clients and stakeholders, supporting projects of various sizes. Occasionally, this may involve working with external consultants.
The successful candidate will provide business analysis expertise, particularly in our Defence sector commissions. They will also support the development of our business analysis services, offering best practices and guidance to junior colleagues and the wider business, and help develop new commercial opportunities.
Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to different client environments. They should be comfortable leading workshops, process modeling, and managing requirements to ensure successful project delivery.
As a Senior Business Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:
* Implementing best practice Business Analysis methodologies to deliver value through structured outputs, processes, and ways of working.
* Documenting current (As-Is) states, including processes and systems, and working with stakeholders to identify future (To-Be) states and gaps.
* Eliciting, capturing, and prioritizing requirements throughout the project lifecycle, including backlog management.
* Managing data collection and validation.
* Supporting Data Analysts in producing systems and models.
* Analyzing model outputs and producing reports.
* Supporting clients in decision-making using model outputs.
* Testing systems and models against requirements.
* Conducting assurance checks on implemented systems and models.
* Supporting technical solutions for Business as Usual (BAU) services.
* Preparing project progress reports.
* Liaising with clients, contractors, and designers.
Previous experience in consultancy and delivery within the National Security sector with appropriate clearances is essential.
Qualifications such as BCS or IIBA are desirable, but extensive experience will also be considered.
Additional skills include analysis and specification of data security protocols, data provenance, validation, insights extraction, and experience with cloud-based data management and analysis tools. Experience working in Agile teams and familiarity with Power BI, SQL, Power Platform, SharePoint, and cloud services are preferred.
This role requires strong analytical and numeracy skills, with a willingness to learn languages like VBA and SQL.
Qualifications
* Data modeling: designing and optimizing data structures.
* Data quality: ensuring data integrity and consistency.
* Data architecture: understanding IT architectural concepts.
* Knowledge of project management software is advantageous.
A degree in an analytic subject is preferred but not mandatory.
Additional Responsibilities
* Supporting the growth of the Digital Business Analysis service through presentations and materials.
* Updating internal databases, with training provided.
* Mentoring junior Business Analysts and supporting their career development.
