Glendower Preparatory Music Department
In all year groups, classes receive two lessons of music teaching a week. The content varies throughout the year but focuses on such areas as performance, basic musical theory, aural training and appreciation. These areas are introduced from Reception and are refined as the girls move through the school.
Music assemblies and Rush Hour concerts take place on a regular basis and give young instrumentalists a chance to perform for their peers and parents in a nurturing and supportive environment. There are several choirs and instrumental ensembles which rehearse each week and perform at more formal occasions such as Harvest Festival, Carol Services, Spring Concert and Prize Giving.
