Job Description: As a Digital Product Officer at Prospect, you’ll help shape the tools that power our growth. You’ll play a vital role in optimising our digital ecosystem to engage members, attract new ones, and ensure our union is stronger, smarter, and ready for the future.
Key Responsibilities
* Product development and management
* Support the development and ongoing improvement of some of Prospect’s digital products and services in line with strategic goals.
* Contribute to product roadmaps, work with colleagues to set clear priorities, and manage digital products.
* Use research and data to identify opportunities, test ideas, and validate decisions.
* Stakeholder engagement
* Act as a key point of contact for digital products and services across the organisation:
* Fielding queries from staff and members.
* Managing shared email inbox.
* Cascading queries where necessary.
* Logging issues with suppliers.
* Collating feedback for discussion and improvements.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including staff across various teams, suppliers and members, ensuring their needs are understood and aligned with organisational strategy.
* Facilitate discussions to create shared understanding and agreement on goals.
* Proactively support colleagues in their use of digital tools and welcome feedback.
* Collaboration and delivery
* Work with suppliers to deliver improvements in a collaborative, efficient, and cost-effective way.
* Collaborate with colleagues across Prospect (including membership, IT, and communications) to ensure joined-up planning and good member experiences across channels.
* Support teams across the organisation by sharing digital insights, tools, and best practices.
* Data and continuous improvement
* Champion a culture of continuous improvement, both within the digital team and across the wider organisation.
* Monitor and evaluate digital performance, using meaningful metrics to inform decisions and measure success.
* Help Prospect become more data-driven by embedding effective data flows, reporting mechanisms, and evidence-based decision making.
* Identify risks and issues, escalating where necessary, and manage stakeholder expectations throughout.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* An understanding of tools, platforms and techniques commonly used in membership and campaigning organisations.
* Experience working in a specialist digital role (agency or in-house), with knowledge of developing new products and enhancing existing ones.
* Understanding of product design and development processes, including scoping, testing, and iterative improvement.
* Experience managing complex projects involving multiple technologies and data flows between systems.
* Skilled at supporting colleagues with varying levels of digital literacy and giving them coaching and advice.
* Demonstrated ability to use metrics, user research, and data insights to guide product decisions and measure impact.
* Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams and facilitating collaboration between digital specialists.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Experience using some of the following platforms:
* DotDigital or similar marketing platforms
* Microsoft Dynamics 365
* Campaigning and organising tools
