Configuration Controller
Location: Broughton, Cheshire
Contract: 12‑month contract (likely extension)
Working Pattern: Double Days shift (alternating mornings/afternoons)
Security Clearance: BPSS+ (completed by Airbus Security)
About the Role
We're proud to be supporting Airbus at their Broughton site in the search for a Configuration Controller to join a critical quality function within Wing Manufacturing.
In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring that aircraft wings are delivered in full compliance with airworthiness, POA and quality standards, supporting the complete industrial lifecycle. You'll work closely with quality, engineering and operational teams, ensuring configuration data, inspection records and certification processes are accurate, robust and audit‑ready.
This is a hands‑on, detail‑focused role suited to someone who enjoys problem‑solving, data accuracy and working within a structured quality environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Configuration Controller, you'll be responsible for:
1. Managing inspection and configuration records to support MCA deliveries across Airbus programmes
2. Ensuring all serialised parts and inspection data are accurately recorded within SAP (APD/ARP/PAC) and CAIR systems
3. Recording and managing outstanding work orders to support Final Assembly Line completion
4. Supporting configuration control activities, including wing re‑allocations in line with approved processes
5. Supporting certification, surveillance and process confirmation activities across the business
6. Coordinating quality investigations, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
7. Working with cross‑functional teams to resolve quality or technical issues efficiently
8. Supporting continuous improvement across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People (SQCDP)
9. Escalating quality risks or issues that could impact delivery or compliance
10. Ensuring EHS and airworthiness standards are met at all times
11. Completing additional quality‑related tasks as requested by the Product Quality Manager
What We're Looking For

Essential skills and experience:
12. Proven experience using SAP systems (APD / ARP / PAC)
13. Strong attention to detail with experience in data input, record keeping and configuration control
14. Logical thinking with a structured approach to problem‑solving
15. Ability to work calmly and methodically when resolving issues
16. Strong communication skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels
17. Ability to work independently while keeping colleagues informed of progress
18. Good written and spoken English
Desirable:
19. Experience using CAIRS
20. Understanding of certification, airworthiness or surveillance processes

21. Shift pattern: Double Days (alternating weeks) Mornings: 06:00 - 13:10Afternoons: 13:30 - 20:40
22. Shift uplift: 20%
23. Pay rates:£16.32 per hour (PAYE)£21.84 per hour (Umbrella)
