Ardingly Court Surgery (in Kemptown, Brighton) is seeking a salaried GP to join our team.
We are a friendly inner city NHS GP practice in a vibrant area of Brighton.
We aim to provide a positive working environment with a good work-life balance.
We offer 4 sessions per week, ideally Monday and Thursday, starting in October 2025. (If you are unable to offer these days, please specify your available days for consideration).
Salary: £11,600 per annum per session (£46,400 pro rata).
Annual leave and study leave are in line with the BMA salaried contract.
Potential for a partnership position with supported development.
Excellent administrative support from our workflow team (reviewing and coding all clinical documents).
We are a GP training practice with a very active Primary Care Network.
Our practice serves approximately 6,500 patients, allowing GPs to maintain a manageable patient list and ensure continuity of care.
We have high-performing QOF results and are rated 'Good' by CQC.
Our clinical system is EMIS, and we utilize Ardens templates to assist with data capture.
Main duties of the job
* Provide high-quality patient care
* Conduct surgery, telephone, and video consultations, and undertake home visits
* Liaise with other team members and organizations involved in patient care, responding promptly to queries
* Investigate and refer patients as appropriate, following current guidance
* Deal promptly with results and correspondence
* Provide cover as required when other GPs are on leave
* Collect data for audits and QOF purposes
* Maintain excellent communication with patients and carers
* Attend clinical, governance, and educational meetings
* Be a strong team player and collaborate effectively with partners and team members
* Manage own time, workload, and resources efficiently
* Attend required training events, such as Practice Learning Events
* Report Significant Incidents involving the practice

Job responsibilities
* Provide high-quality patient care, including prevention, screening, treatment, management of chronic conditions, and health promotion
* Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients, following current practice protocols and guidance such as NICE
* Conduct surgery, telephone, and video consultations, and undertake home visits
* See patients promptly to minimize waiting times
* Ensure appropriate follow-up of patients
* Generate, check, and sign prescriptions in line with practice policy
* Liaise with team members and organizations involved in patient care, responding promptly to queries
* Investigate and refer patients as appropriate, following current guidance
* Deal promptly with results and correspondence, communicating necessary actions clearly
* Provide cover when other GPs are on leave for all duties listed
* Use resources judiciously to optimize NHS funds
* Maintain clear, up-to-date consultation notes and patient records according to standards and policies
* Collect data for audits and QOF
* Prescribe generically when appropriate, following formulary and guidance
* Maintain high levels of communication with patients and carers to ensure effective care delivery
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Vocationally trained and accredited GP, preferably MRCGP, with current GMC registration
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Ability to work independently with limited supervision
* IT proficiency, familiar with EMIS
* Exceptional team player
* Good understanding of GMS contracting and QOF, with interest or experience in specific disease areas
