Sexual Offences Examiner/Experienced Forensic Physician - Cumbria Base Location: The Bridgeway, 2 Tynefield Drive, Penrith, CA11 8JA This role predominantly covers Paediatric cases but there will be training undertaken in the adult service also for resilience purposes. Travel will be a requirement of this role especially in the first 6 months where there will be some training in the paediatric centre in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Weekend working and evenings are not usually required but may be occasionally needed for resilience purposes. Note some training may occur at weekends Salary: £79,497-82,638 (pro rata) Part Time role: 24 hours per week Rota is 9.30-3.30 Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri (the days are flexible). Key Responsibilities Will Include: Forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits. Develop Forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines. Actively working in partnership with external MDTs and Police. Point of contact for Police and Social Services to discuss referral pathways. Undertaking holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding. Supporting the continued quality improvement of the service. Working under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements. Obtaining consent for Health and Forensic procedures Travel for training days will also be a requirement of this role. Hotel and subsistence will be reimbursed in line with the Expenses Policy Essential Skills Required: GMC-registered Doctor A minimum of 3 years relevant post Foundation experience. Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults. Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality. Experience of working in Sexual health, Paediatrics, GP or Obs/Gynae. Because of the nature of the Sexual Offence Examiner, applications are invited from females only.
