Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools are recruiting for a Teacher of English at The Mary Erskine School on a temporary basis from 14 August 2025 to 4 January 2026, with potential extension (subject to checks). The position is part-time, 11.75 hours per week during term time, with additional hours available on Friday. Salary is on the ESMS Teaching Staff Salary Scale A, with a pro-rata range of £19,308 - £27,963, depending on experience and qualifications. The role is based at the Ravelston site.
The ideal candidate must be GTCS-registered, possess a subject-specific degree, and be familiar with Scottish qualifications. They should be an excellent practitioner, highly organized, capable of multitasking, and able to foster positive relationships within the school community.
