Futures are supporting a leading manufacturer in their search for a Project Engineer. The role offers the opportunity to own a diverse portfolio of engineering projects from concept through to completion. As Project Engineer you will be responsible for generating detailed product specifications so a sold understand of mechanical design principles is required.
This role could suit a mechanical design engineer, applications engineer or similar with a good understanding of project management principles.
Project Engineer – Role & Responsibilities – Project Manager / Design / R&D / Manufacture / Production / Projects
Manage a diverse portfolio of concurrent projects, balancing long-term OE (Original Equipment) projects with quick turn around projects.
Act as the central point of contact for customers, engineering, and production teams.
Lead OE projects through early build stages and handover into production.
Coordinate communication between customer technical teams and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.
Drive progress through pricing, planning, chasing actions, and proactively ensuring deadlines are met.
Spend time on the shop floor to validate progress and resolve issues.
Manage project design aspects through a matrix-managed design team.

A relevant engineering qualification (HND/HNC, Degree etc) and strong CAD skills
Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
Skilled in coordinating multiple engineering or manufacturing projects simultaneously.
Comfortable prioritising workload in a fast-paced environment.
