Overview
We seek a skilled and forward-thinking Economic Analyst to join the Domestic Analysis Department within the Strategy & Market Analysis organization.
This department focuses on the domestic landscape and supports our energy transition strategy in Saudi Arabia. Responsibilities include detailed economic analyses, trend evaluation, and identifying opportunities aligned with a sustainable energy future.
The Senior Economic Analyst will possess a strong understanding of economic principles in the domestic energy sector and be passionate about contributing to global energy transition efforts. The role involves translating economic data and energy transition trends into strategic recommendations.
Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive economic analyses of the Saudi domestic market, including trends, pricing, and demand-supply dynamics.
* Assess financial performance of domestic operations, identifying risks and opportunities to optimize profitability and efficiency, aligned with traditional and net-zero emission objectives.
* Support energy transition strategies by analyzing economic opportunities in renewables, hydrogen, CCUS, energy efficiency, and sustainable initiatives within Saudi Arabia.
* Monitor regulatory and policy developments, assessing their economic implications for the organization’s transition goals.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, strategy, sustainability) to integrate economic insights with broader energy transition objectives.
* Provide scenario analyses and forecasts on the impact of energy policies on the domestic economy.
* Prepare reports, presentations, and forecasts on economic indicators affecting oil, gas, and new energies to inform strategic decisions.
* Utilize advanced data analytics and statistical tools (e.g., Excel, R, Python) for decision support, including scenario planning and sensitivity analyses.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or Engineering; Master’s in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Energy Economics, or related fields preferred.
* Minimum 12 years of experience in economic analysis within oil & gas, energy, or sustainability sectors.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, including metrics and trends in renewable energy, hydrogen, CCUS, etc.
* Proficiency in statistical and data analysis tools (Excel, R, Python, etc.).
* Knowledge of Saudi energy market dynamics, regulations, and energy transition policies.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
* Familiarity with economic/financial databases (Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters) and sustainability reporting standards.
