We are seeking a talented individual to join our Executive Compensation Consulting team at Mercer. This role will be based in London. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.


Executive Compensation Consultant

Mercer’s Executive Reward team specializes in providing high-quality, tailored, and independent consulting advice on executive remuneration. Our insights are trusted at the highest levels of corporate decision-making, including Boards of Directors and senior executives. We deliver best-in-class analytics, data-driven insights, and strategic solutions to help organisations of all sizes and industries align their executive reward strategies with business goals and success.

What can you expect?

1. Work with a diverse range of clients and industries, taking on roles as project lead or project manager to diagnose client issues and develop executive remuneration solutions for Remuneration Committees and management. You will collaborate with our Reward team, which supports broader workforce reward strategies.
2. Contribute to a team that values high-quality work and continuous improvement.
3. Act as a front-line advisor with significant client exposure, tackling interesting challenges alongside a talented and supportive peer group from day one.
4. Gain insight into senior-level decision-making processes.
5. Engage in a variety of high-profile, meaningful projects with prominent clients both in the UK and internationally.

We will count on you to:

6. Manage project teams to prepare for Remuneration Committee or Executive Committee meetings. Serve as the primary contact for clients and build trusted advisor relationships.
7. Draft and review reports and Remuneration Committee papers. Support the design of solutions, including incentive plans, remuneration policy reviews, and strategies in the context of IPOs or M&A activity.
8. Ensure the delivery of high-quality work while managing project budgets.
9. Stay attuned to client needs, anticipating and addressing complex, non-standard queries.
10. Attend and present at client meetings with senior stakeholders.
11. Contribute to strategic thinking through market development and thought leadership pieces, reinforcing Mercer’s position as a global HR consulting leader.
12. Lead project proposals and marketing initiatives to attract new business.
13. Maintain broad knowledge of Mercer’s offerings, connecting clients with relevant services and internal teams.

What You Need:

14. Significant experience in executive compensation, reward consulting, or related industry roles.
15. Professional qualifications and experience from accounting, legal, or actuarial backgrounds are also relevant.
16. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
17. Proven analytical and technical skills, especially in Excel.
18. Excellent written and presentation skills.
19. Ability to interpret data, tell compelling stories, and solve complex problems.
20. Strong interpersonal skills to engage clients effectively and influence stakeholders.
21. Exceptional organisational and project management abilities.
22. Attention to detail.
