Job Opportunity: Quality & Training Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Healthcare Scientist to join our laboratory team at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with proven leadership ability to oversee our Quality Management System and Training and Education Programme across all laboratory disciplines, including support for Point of Care services. The successful candidate will lead the work of the Quality and Training Teams, work well within teams, and handle pressure effectively, such as during UKAS Inspections.
Qualifications and Experience
* Hold an MSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent, or IBMS Fellowship / Higher Specialist Diploma.
* IBMS Certificate(s) of Expert Practice in Quality / Training or additional qualifications in Quality or Training are encouraged.
* Active participation in CPD is expected, with support for further study.
Work Environment and Responsibilities
Forth Valley Laboratories are busy, well-equipped departments providing services to the Acute Hospital, Community Hospitals, and General Practices in Forth Valley. They include Microbiology (including Molecular Diagnostics/Virology), Pathology, Clinical Chemistry, Haematology/Transfusion, and Point of Care Services. This is a multidisciplinary role covering accreditation in all laboratory disciplines.
Knowledge of UKAS ISO;15189 (2022) standards is essential. The Microbiology & Pathology Laboratories are currently UKAS ISO;15189 (2022) accredited, with Clinical Chemistry, Haematology/Transfusion Departments, and the PoCT service working towards accreditation.
