Your new companyHays is delighted to support a leading UK healthcare organisation undergoing major expansion across the UK and Ireland. With new clinic fit outs scheduled throughout 2026, they are strengthening their Facilities & Maintenance division with an experienced Joiner / Site Lead to support and manage small-scale build, maintenance and fit-out projects.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking employer with a national footprint and a strong pipeline of work.
Your new roleAs the Joiner / Site Lead, you'll take responsibility for leading small teams of joiners on site, coordinating day-to-day works, and ensuring high-quality delivery across maintenance and fit-out projects.
This is a hand on leadership position involving:
Leading small teams onsite for construction, fit-out and refurbishment activities
Delivering 1st & 2nd fix joinery, dry lining, ceilings and general fit out
Raising material requisitions and managing stock levels
Supporting subcontractors on preventative and reactive maintenance
Ensuring compliance with Building & Planning regulations
Conducting monthly site walk arounds and H&S checks
Completing weekly job sheets for scheduling
Liaising with the Facilities Supervisor daily/weekly to prioritise workloads
You'll work mainly around London initially, with regular travel to additional UK & Ireland sites. Accommodation is provided when travel is required, and a company van is issued for material transport.
What you'll need to succeedEssential
Experience leading small teams or supervising fit-out site works
Fully qualified Joiner with strong on site background
Experience across building sites and commercial fit outs
Skilled in 1st & 2nd fix joinery, dry lining, ceilings
Competent with hand & power tools
Physically able to lift/carry materials and work outdoors
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to follow written instructions and complete paperwork
Valid CSCS card
Full UK driving licence
Desirable
Experience in high street or shopping centre fit outs
Strip out and full refit experience
Asbestos Awareness
Ability to undertake non joinery tasks where required
