Overview
Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) to work within the integrated health service at HMP Risley. The prison is based in Warrington, Cheshire and is easily accessible by public transport, G prison is a Male Category C prison.
As an RMN, you will provide a holistic package of care to patients within the prison system, working with the team to develop and maintain delivery of high quality, individualised, evidence-based, patient-centred nursing care. You’ll manage the assessment of health needs, planning, delivery and evaluation of care for the prison population, including clinical risk assessment.
Responsibilities
* Triaging the mental health needs of new arrivals/transfers and those currently in custody.
* Providing advice on health and harm reduction recovery issues to those with substance and/or mental health needs.
* Promoting and managing generic health needs of service users with drug misuse issues and referring on to Health Care when required.
* Completing mental health assessments.
* Providing a range of therapeutic interventions to service users with primary and secondary mental health care needs.
* Carrying out safe and accurate full clinical assessments of service users’ treatment needs in collaboration with lead medical staff and other healthcare colleagues.
* Carrying out appropriate clinical and prison ACCT risk assessments and implementing interventions to manage risks.
* Making recommendations and identifying treatment needs in developing integrated care plans.
* Managing treatment plans for patients.
