Overview
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust upholds safeguarding as "Everyone's Responsibility," advocating a family-centred approach to safeguarding. The post holder will support the Named Nurse/Professional in embedding this family-focused safeguarding approach across the Trust within a designated geographical hub model as part of the wider Safeguarding Support team.
Responsibilities
* The Safeguarding Practitioner will be part of a service dedicated to supporting and promoting the welfare of children and adults. The role involves assisting the Named Nurse/Professional and safeguarding specialists in delivering a responsive, expert service that provides daily support and advice to Trust staff, ensuring good safeguarding practices which align with evidence-based research.
* You will actively contribute to family approach, safeguarding training across the Trust, preparing and delivering training sessions for staff groups across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
* You will also work in the multiagency arena supporting and working with the Named Nurse/Professional and safeguarding specialist to support completion of safeguarding reviews, internal and external, including Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (CSPR), Domestic Abuse Related Death Review (DARDR), Adult Safeguarding Reviews. Identifying safeguarding concerns and working collaboratively as part of a multi-agency team.
* Support the named nurse/professionals and safeguarding specialists to meet statutory safeguarding duties and responsibilities and promote a family approach.
* Respond to safeguarding concerns effectively by providing expert advice and safeguarding supervision, using a family approach, to assure high-quality restorative and reflective safeguarding practice across our Trust services.
* Build and maintain constructive relationships to enable collaborative working with multidisciplinary teams and internal and external stakeholders across a wide range of services and disciplines, to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.
* Support delivery of safeguarding related training and education across the Trust to promote a culture of safeguarding within the organisation to ensure staff are aware of policies, procedures and responsibilities, when required support multi-agency training provision.
