Lead UX Content Designer – Trainline
About the role
We’re looking for a Lead UX Content Designer to define and drive the direction of content design at Trainline. This senior role has significant influence across our product ecosystem. You’ll build on strong existing workflows and processes, scale the impact of content design across teams, and ensure our voice and messaging stay consistent and customer‑first.
What you’ll do
* Set direction: Define the long‑term vision and strategy for content design at Trainline, ensuring content principles, standards, and workflows are clear and scalable.
* Lead and mentor: Build, develop, and inspire a team of UX content designers, providing coaching, guidance, and support for career growth.
* Drive execution: Partner with product, design, research, and engineering leads to deliver content solutions across multiple product themes.
* Innovate with AI: Champion AI‑first content design, exploring how tools and automation can enhance efficiency, quality, and experimentation.
* Scale impact: Evolve and embed best practices, processes, and governance for content design across the product org.
* Thrive in ambiguity: Manage multiple streams of work, adapting to shifting priorities while maintaining a clear focus on customer outcomes.
We’d love to hear from you if you have
* Proven experience as a senior or lead content designer, UX writer, or similar role in a product‑led environment.
* Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring or managing content designers.
* Demonstrated ability to define content strategy, workflows, and principles at scale.
* Excellent written communication skills with a sharp eye for detail, clarity, and tone of voice.
* Experience working across complex products, ideally in travel, e‑commerce, or similarly high‑volume customer experiences.
* Comfortable operating in ambiguity and making confident decisions in fast‑paced environments.
* Excited by AI‑first design and keen to experiment with new tools and approaches.
* Collaborative mindset, able to influence and inspire across disciplines and teams.
