We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Post-Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Patient admissions area. In this role, you will provide high-quality Pre operative and Post-operative care to patients recovering from anaesthesia, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Description The Role : Provide care in accordance with best nursing practices, company policies and in collaboration with the patient, their family and the wider healthcare team Anticipate patient’s requirements, discuss with medical colleagues, and organise necessary investigations and equipment Maintain patient safety and integrity by anticipating and managing risks and potential complications in treatments, procedures and the surgical environment – including risks related to infection, positioning and restraint Monitor and assess patients post-surgery, ensuring a smooth recovery. Administer medications and manage pain relief as per protocols. Collaborate with anaesthetists and surgical teams to provide optimal patient care. Educate patients and families about post-operative care and recovery. Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital policies and procedures. Your practice will be in line with the code of conduct and professional boundaries of the nursing professional body. Skills And Experiences About you You will be professional, motivated and enthusiastic. You will have excellent communication skills and provide an exceptional standard of care to our patients. You will also bring: Registered Nurse with current NZ Nursing Council APC Relevant bachelor’s degree or Hospital based training Demonstrated nursing experience in PACU, ED, ICU, or surgical nursing preferred. Knowledge of the best practice relevant nursing standards of care Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
