Overview
This is a FIXED TERM Contract commencing in October 2025 to provide medical support for the Trauma and Orthopaedic Medicine Service (T.O.M.S.). You will be supervised and supported by Consultants from Medicine for Older People. The aim of T.O.M.S. is to provide specialist medical care for patients admitted with trauma or elective orthopaedics that has complex medical conditions or clinical frailty. Providing acute medical care, ongoing medical management and rehabilitation.
Responsibilities
* Management of patients within Consultant team.
* Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings.
* Liaison with all health professionals involved in a patient\'s care as appropriate.
* Good communication with patients and carers.
* Administrative tasks related to patient care and departmental management.
* Performing routine ward rounds
Education, appraisal and professional requirements
* Successful candidates will have an educational framework equivalent to training grade doctors, and there will be a named educational supervisor assigned at the start of the post. The opportunity for Continued Professional Development (CPD) is highly supported and encouraged by the Trust, with options available to take study leave. All licensed doctors must meet the GMC requirements for revalidation and there will be an annual appraisal to support this process.
* GMC registration (with a licence to practice) and right to work in the UK are essential for this role. Successful applicants will already have GMC registration or will be able to demonstrate they are eligible. Applicants requiring Skilled Worker sponsorship should ensure they meet the Home Office application criteria prior to submitting an application.

Salary and terms
Grades for Trust appointed (non-training) fellows will be paid a basic salary at a nodal pay point linked to the grade, at the rate set out in the National Medical and Dental pay circular. Basic Salary - MT03 £52,656. Travel expenses will not be paid for attending interview. This post is ward based within the Trauma and Orthopaedic footprint. Duties will be 08:00-17:00 Mon-Fri with 1:5 weekend cover (08:00-17:00) and one Long Day shift per week (08:00-20:30).
